Position Purpose:

The purpose of the Program Manager, Clinical Informatics is to plan, facilitate, and implement volunteer activities and programming surrounding the interprofessional global informatics education and nursing governance and informatics policy initiatives, within the Clinical Informatics team of the Informatics Department. Responsibilities include activities related to key volunteer groups, communities, and resource/deliverable development to grow a HIMSS global presence using innovative strategies and data analytics to accomplish goals and provide support to the Informatics team.

Essential Functions:

  • Volunteer Efforts & Thought Leadership: Plan, facilitate, and execute internal and external volunteer/community-focused activities, projects, presentations, communications, and programs for the interprofessional global informatics education and nursing governance and policy communities, leveraging strong customer service and program management skills. Conduct follow up activities including meeting minutes and other action items.
  • ANI Committees: Manage annual committees appointment processes, maintain tracking on action items and deliverables roadmap, develop agendas and action plans to manage completion of deliverables.
  • TIGER Community: Manage volunteer groups/individuals of international members to produce resources and deliverables for himss.org, educational virtual meetings, and produce and organize content layout for the TIGER eNewsletter, news item creation and publishing, and manage the members of the TIGER Community and its initiatives and programs. Create and manage engagement of new global TIGER Community members, quarterly.
  • Virtual Education & Content Development: Execute virtual programming for communities and external partners including all speaker management, publications, and marketing efforts. Develop program and learning objectives alongside partners and members.
  • Website & Marketing/Communications: Manage the informatics@himss.org public folder, ensure close alignment and strong working relationships with internal marketing and communication teams. Oversee and update the relevant content areas on himss.org, including Google Analytics monitoring. Establish workflow and deliverables to support clinical informatics initiatives through internal marketing and communications efforts including social media actions.
  • HIMSS Global Health Conference and Exhibition: Support strategic relationship activities and manage benefit fulfillment for sponsored events in relation to the HIMSS Global Conference for relevant topic areas; support other ad hoc initiatives depending on topic (i.e., TIGER-community focused events, bi-annual ANI Governing Director’s Meeting).
  • Internal Enterprise efforts: As appropriate, project manage other thought leadership efforts identified within the HIMSS Enterprise.
  • Membership Engagement: Membership engagement including welcoming new members, database maintenance on member groups, and general customer service.

 

Other Functions:

  • All duties as assigned to achieve HIMSS goals and objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department and to accomplish strategic goals and objectives.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, informatics, project management, policy, or related field.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years in healthcare, informatics or clinical experience with a minimum of three (3) years' experience of project management working with volunteer groups preferred. Ability to coordinate multiple projects, groups, meetings, and activities.
  • Highly efficient mastery of IT/communication applications including Outlook (mail and cross-time-zone scheduling), the Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, web-based survey tools, and web-based collaboration tools, web conferencing tools, survey, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Strengths in problem solving, analytical and abstract thinking, ability to implement projects using effective project management and communication skills, in preparing content/layout for websites and ongoing communication vehicles (i.e., eNewsletters).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position will be required to speak publicly (to various stakeholder groups, including but not limited to internal teams, virtual audiences, and strategic partners) about the work that HIMSS is doing for the content area and the various activities and projects underway within the HIMSS Clinical Informatics portfolio of activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based situations with co-workers, volunteers and other organizations. Ability to work effectively with team members across HIMSS geographic locations.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, planning and time management skills, with the ability to determine effective and innovative strategies to accomplish assigned projects.
