About the Internship

ThiThis internship will provide the student with the opportunity to apply classroom learning in real world applications and engage with clinicians and IT professionals in the advancement of nursing informatics and enterprise imaging strategies.  The Clinical Informatics Intern will predominantly support the Nursing Informatics Community and the HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Community by creating and executing the community communication deliverables and supporting the development of content.  The Clinical Informatics Intern will additionally support the HIMSS enterprise and in doing so and learn the internal aspects of association work.

 

Intern will participate and join meetings within the nursing informatics and enterprise imaging communities, who focus on education, networking, deliverables, and outputs to share publicly to the greater community. Intern will be responsible for timely and accurate communication with staff and members including facilitating calls, developing agendas with chairs, taking minutes, and keeping rosters up-to-date. Intern will also be requested to conduct some research on topic areas, contribute to tracking documents, and conducting follow-up on meeting action items on behalf of the society.

 

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree (either undergraduate or graduate) in Health Informatics
  • Must have a 3.2 or higher GPA
  • Available 12-15 hours per week
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • A strong interest in the advancement of the Informatics discipline
