The HIMSS Institute convenes a global & diverse team and deploys multi-disciplinary resources which bring capabilities in design, insights, research, AI/ML, and business development methods to deliver evidence of health outcomes, solutions, and social impact in realizing the full health potential of every human, everywhere. 

Under the supervision of the Director of the HIMSS Institute, the Health Information & Technology Intern is responsible for research activities and data gathering to create a landscape of the job market for health technology & administrative roles across the entire state of New Jersey.


The Intern will be well organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of working in a culturally diverse and dynamic environment. You are a leader with excellent communication skills, a self-starter, and able to work independently, as well as, across a team.


Duties include but are not limited to: data extractions, data analysis, survey construction, writing survey questions, interviewing & recording responses, recruiting participants for research, synthesizing results, developing powerpoints, present findings.


Key roles and responsibilities

  • Data gathering and collection
  • Recruit respondents, schedule interviews
  • Design and execute a research program
  • Synthesizes findings and presents
  • Work among a team; assign roles, responsibilities, and deadlines and hold each other accountable.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Attending a University or College, seeking an Associates, Undergraduate, or Graduate degree
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral)
  • Active listening skills are very important
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Be punctual
  • Comfortable and confident working in excel
