This role is part of our expanding mission to align our products and improve the member value.  With a primary focus on the Analytics Product Development program, this role will have hands-on responsibilities laying the groundwork for a systematic product lifecycle; understand/prioritize our Analytics product assets, refine our product strategy, define member value and align to the HIMSS membership program, and develop/execute an aspirational and exciting roadmap for our clients and organization.      


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead stakeholder coordination to establish strategic goals to support the HIMSS mission, strategic business objectives, and product development.
  • Own and define the Analytics business’ product roadmap, prioritizing projects appropriately and gaining buy-in from key stakeholders. Work with junior product management team members and supporting functions to align development plans.
  • Lead initiatives and working groups that are focused on improving product performance and/or new product development through a Product Framework.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to understand market problems and ideate on innovative solutions for the broader market, both within the Analytics business unit and with the broader HIMSS product suite.
  • Research and analyze market data to identify key insights such as market size, client segmentation and competitive analysis, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization for alignment.
  • Assess current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation
  • Conduct customer assessments and synthesize findings into product definition and design, insuring proper business justification of new opportunities.
  • Take inventory of all assets to develop product a strategy to commercialize, generate new insights or sunset offerings where appropriate.
  • Maximize the user experience for data usage, access, visualization, and reporting.
  • Work with Legal, Technology, Product and category leadership to support data, technology and information compliance with the business policy and external legal requirements (i.e. GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Lead the identification and promotion of industry leading trends and new and emerging functionality and offerings.
  • Define measurement and reporting of product performance and established KPIs.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department.


What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Product Leadership, Marketing, Economics, or equivalent year’s directly related work experience.
  • Master’s Degree in relevant fields is ideal, but not required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in product management and/or product strategy
  • Experience with deciphering feedback, building business justification and executing strategic goals
  • Experience working with global stakeholders
  • Leadership presence and consensus building capabilities; Empathetic to user needs while being able to decipher MVP vs. “nice to have”
  • Ability to tell a story and provide a point of view and recommendation using data to influence leaders, primarily C-level executives
  • Demonstrated record in establishing and meeting product deliverable deadlines.
  • Proficiency with all components of Microsoft Office suite
