Your Challenge: The Software Architect is responsible for establishing the patterns and frameworks adopted by the teams they support. The Software Architect works cross-functionally to establish a business-level understanding of desired outcomes and builds proofs of concept to establish confidence in proposed solutions. The Software Architect maintains awareness of the day-to-day problems faced by the development team to drive towards solutions that continuously improve performance of the application and cycle times of the development team. They will have a real passion for development and a demonstrated appetite for continual learning, typically manifest in their community contributions (e.g., open source work, publishing / speaking on technical ideas)

 

The things that you will tackle:

  • Influence and guide the engineering roadmap for all elements of the application
  • Proactively identify pain points and bottlenecks; build proofs of concept to remediate those challenges
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to translate business requirements into technical designs
  • Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions
  • Build applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards
  • Build using modern design patterns and architectural principles
  • Work closely with team mates to build a quality system end-to-end
  • Work side-by-side with developers to remain in-touch with the state of the code base
  • Establish system-level designs and facilitate execution across multiple teams in parallel

What you will need to be successful:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development
  • Seen as a keen learner within the technical components of the domains/products
  • Experience driving technical best practices to support Agile development
  • Passionate to learn new technologies and strives towards cross-functional development
  • Significant experience developing RESTful API services and performance tuning largescale apps
  • Significant experience across all elements of the software development lifecycle optimizing technical outcomes and developer experience
  • Experience coaching senior engineers on technical job tracks

What else will help you be successful:

  • Experience with security at the systems level, including GDPR
  • Exposure to various cloud platform technologies
