The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading one or more teams of engineers on all aspects of product development. Work closely with tech and product management, data analytics, business operations, and other engineering leaders to build and deliver the roadmap of the team. Owns the product’s technical delivery; overall responsible for long-term product success from technology point-of-view; resolves roadblocks, and engineering issues stopping product value delivery.


You will have a deep understanding of the people, technologies, and practices of your team, and apply your expertise to planning, prioritization, and execution. You will support the self-development and career growth of individuals, as well as foster a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative environment in which people do their best work.


The things that you will tackle:

  • Help engineers grow their professional skills and experience
  • Author project plans for epics
  • Run agile project management processes
  • Actively seek and hire talent
  • Identify capability gaps in the squad and actively recruit to fill through effective recruiting, interviewing and technical interviewing evaluation
  • Cultivate a team environment where members feel safe to express feedback and share ideas & knowledge
  • Generate and implement process improvements
  • Manage the career path and goals of your team members, conducting regular 1:1's and giving timely feedback
  • Manage expectations and feedback to avoid any surprises during the more formal performance evaluation process
  • Foster technical decision-making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary
  • Draft quarterly OKRs and Engineering KPIs
  • Improve product quality, security, and performance

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Relevant experience as a technical leader or as a hands-on, technical individual contributor.
  • Solid programming skills in Go, Java, Python, or similar.
  • Strong systems design experience, having scaled algorithmic & ML solutions in products. 
  • A track record of delivering results even when requirements are under-specified.
  • Computer science education or equivalent experience
